Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year Award (DEYA)
For over two decades, the Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year Award (DEYA) has been B.C.’s premier celebration of entrepreneurial excellence – a signature event proudly hosted by the Gustavson School of Business. Now in its 21st year, DEYA continues to honour visionary leaders who have made a lasting impact through innovation, leadership and community contributions.
But DEYA is more than just an award ceremony – it’s an unparalleled evening of inspiration, connection and insight. Over a three-course dinner, guests are immersed in a dynamic, one-of-a-kind experience featuring recipient-inspired décor, an imaginative atmosphere and powerful storytelling. It’s a masterclass in entrepreneurship wrapped in an unforgettable gala setting.

2025 recipients: Andrew Wilkinson & Chris Sparling
Tiny is a publicly traded holding company that owns over 40 businesses including Letterboxd, the popular social network for film lovers, and AeroPress, makers of the iconic coffee press.
Their partnership began in 2009 at MetaLab, Wilkinson's first business. Like most entrepreneurs, they learned through trial and error, ultimately building their success on a straightforward philosophy: buy great businesses and let them thrive independently. Wilkinson and Sparling are currently co-chairs of Tiny.
While leading Tiny together, both have pursued additional ventures. Wilkinson has developed media ventures and established the Tiny Foundation to address local challenges. Both remain actively involved in Victoria's business community.
