Undergraduate programs

Our faculty pushes the edges of engineering and computer science.
- get hands-on experience
- join award-winning student teams
- earn money in your field during co-op
- design the future
Add in specializations, options and interdisciplinary programs, ranging from music to management, to combine your technical skills with other interests.
Minors
Expand your education by adding a minor to your degree program.
Minors are available from:
Co-op program
At UVic, learning extends beyond the classroom. Through co-operative education (co-op), you can alternate terms in class with paid work terms in your field of study.
All engineering students are automatically admitted to the engineering co-op program.
While co-op is optional for computer science students, the program’s hands-on work experience is beneficial and we encourage you to apply.
Transfer students
Whether you came here from another post-secondary institution, took a few years off or went through a bridge program, it's easy to transfer to UVic Engineering and Computer Science.
- apply online and send in your transcripts
- within a few weeks, you'll receive a transfer evaluation with a course-by-course description of how your credit transfers to UVic
- eligible transfer credit is normally assigned as part of admission
Bridge program
Turn your engineering technology diploma into an engineering degree through the Camosun-UVic Engineering Bridge Programs.
There are 3 programs at Camosun College that allow graduates with qualifying technology diplomas to fast-track directly into third-year engineering studies at UVic:
- Electronics and Computer Engineering Bridge program
- Mechanical Engineering Bridge program
- Civil Engineering Bridge program
Engineering accreditation
Graduation from one of UVic's nationally accredited undergraduate engineering programs is the first step to becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (PEng).
For more information on obtaining a PEng, visit Engineers and Geoscientists BC, the organization that regulates and governs these professions in BC.
