Students are living closer than ever to the financial breaking point. Last year, one in every six University of Victoria students relied on donor support in order to manage their costs.
From emergency bursaries to entrance scholarships, UVic faculties are raising funds this spring to create better access to education for students.
By supporting one of the initiatives below, you’ll be providing critical financial support to a UVic student. Until May 15, 2025, your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar, which means you’ll make twice the difference for students.*
When I was in my first year, I encountered a serious financial emergency. I was worried about how I would make it through the rest of my semester. It was such a huge relief when I found out I would receive emergency bursary funding to get me through the year.
UVic makes me feel at home, and I’ve experienced so much growth here. I would not be where I am now without that early financial support.
Ways to support students in each faculty
Emergency Bursary
Your gift to this bursary provides an education student with quick, easy-to-access funding when they are experiencing a financial crisis, so that they don’t need to put a pause on their dreams.
30 by 30 Women in Engineering Award
Provide vital financial support to a woman entering her first year of engineering studies when you donate to this award. Help close the gender gap and create a more diverse future for engineering.
Jean Shannon Emergency Fund
An unexpected cost can put a student’s whole education plan at risk. A gift to this fund helps a Fine Arts student overcome a financial setback and continue with their studies.
Emergency Bursary
Your support provides vital safety net to business students facing a financial crisis, giving them the means to stay in school and continue following their UVic path.
UVic Graduate Scholarship
Studying at the master’s or PhD level comes with unique challenges. Your generosity will make a graduate degree more accessible, by providing crucial financial support to a student.
Emergency Bursary
An unexpected cost or financial emergency can put a student in a precarious situation. A gift to this bursary helps a humanities student overcome a financial setback and continue with their studies.
Faculty of Law Dean’s Award
Your gift provides meaningful financial support to a law student who has demonstrated academic ability together with determination, resilience, contribution and compassion. There is $10,000 in matching available specifically for donations to this award.
Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship
Your support will not only provide a new university student with financial relief for their studies, but with recognition for their hard work and their commitment to the sciences.
Emergency Bursary
Your gift provides critical support for a student who is facing a financial crisis. This easy-to-access emergency bursary is available to all social sciences students, whether they are part-time, full-time, domestic or international.
